Paths of natural stone: the authenticity of Meridian quartzite cladding the floor and cellar of the Bem Viver Living room environment at CasaCor/ MS
The Bem Viver Living room, designed by architect Ana Paula Moreira and executed by Casa do Mármore, for CasaCor/MS, mixes contemporary and classic styles and relies on a selection of materials and furniture in neutral and sober tones to create the integrated living room, wine cellar and home office.
To enrich this proposal, the architect opted for Meridian quartzite and its smooth, consistent flow of patterns and colors that bring serenity and elegance to the space.
Quartzite flooring
Meridian quartzite covered a large part of the living room floor, interspersed with the wood flooring through a transversal cut-out that helps to define and mark out the spaces of this integrated environment in a creative and relaxed way.
Quartzite countertop
The space for the wine cellar has an extensive countertop in Meridian with a dynamic design that surrounds the climate-controlled cellars and the cabinetry, as well as having a support niche at one end.
Above this countertop, niches and shelves were also designed in Meridian quartzite, exploring an asymmetrical volumetry to support bottles and glasses, giving movement to the furniture.
Paths in Meridian
Meridian quartzite has a neutral tone, with a light gray background and blue-green veins, creating paths that direct the eye. The uniqueness of the layers of Meridian quartzite are traces of the climatic variations of its time of deposition, with sedimentary patterns designed by ancient marine oscillations.
